Penyerahan Bahan Digital Manuskrip untuk Jabatan Mufti Negeri Kedah
Pihak Institut Penyelidikan Produk dan Ketamadunan Melayu Islam (INSPIRE) membuat penyerahan kandungan manuskrip yang telah didigitalkan. Bahan tersebut diserahkan kepada Timbalan Mufti Negeri Kedah Syeikh Marwazi Dziyauddin oleh Prof. Madya Dr. Mohd Hasrul Shuhari. Penyerahan ini dibuat berasaskan pada memorandum persefahaman yang telah ditandatangani pada 30 Julai 2024. Antara yang menjadi fokus utama kerjasama adalah dalam pendigitalan manuskrip, bagi tujuan pemeliharaan dan pemuliharaan.
Sesi penyerahan ini turut melibatkan perbincangan mengenai sambutan Jubli Perak Jabatan Mufti Negeri Kedah pada tahun 2025. Pihak INSPIRE, UniSZA bersedia memberikan kerjasama terhadap sambutan tersebut dengan memberi input terutama dalam konteks berkaitan manuskrip.

UniSZA Signs MoU With 5 Agencies, Collaborates For UniSZA Manuscript Digitization Project
July 30, 2024 | Kuala Terengganu, Sultan Zainal Abidin University (UniSZA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kedah Darul Aman State Mufti Department, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah International Islamic University (UniSHAMS), Kedah Public Library Corporation, Terengganu Public Library Corporation, and the State Museum Board Kedah Darul Aman is located in Menara A, South Drawbridge Kuala Terengganu.
This MoU was signed by the representatives of their respective agencies, YBhg. Prof. Dato' Dr. Fadzli bin Adam (UniSZA Vice Chancellor), YBrs. Prof. Associate Dr. Muhammad Nasri bin Md. Hussain (Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic & International Affairs (Acting Vice-Chancellor) UniSHAMS), YBrs. Mr. Shahizan Affandi bin Zakaria (Director of Kedah Public Library Corporation), YBrs. Mr. Suhaidi bin Shukri (Director of the Kedah Darul Aman State Museum Board), YBrs. Miss Khomzah binti Sheik Ahmad (Head of Collection Management and Development Division, Terengganu Public Library Corporation), YBrs. Syeikh Mohd Firdaus bin Mohd Khalil (Chief Assistant Mufti (Fatwa Referral) Kedah State Mufti Department Darul Aman).
The signing of this MoU was held to establish cooperation and collaboration between UniSZA and the agencies involved in the UniSZA Manuscript Digitization Project. This project has been initiated by UniSZA through UniSZA's Islamic Malay Product & Civilization Research Institute (INSPIRE) to digitize all Malay Islamic manuscripts from within and outside the country. This step is part of the joint efforts of these institutions to protect and promote the intellectual and cultural heritage of Islam, as well as increase the accessibility of scientific materials to researchers and the public through digital technology.
The Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education has given a mandate to UniSZA as a Malay Islamic National Digital Manuscript Reference Center through the UniSZA Manuscript Digitization Project. This desire will be carried out together with collaboration from inside and outside the country to gather a digital collection of Malay Islamic manuscripts in one place for the preservation of the world's treasures from being lost.
Also present at the ceremony was Sahibus Samahah Dato' Dr. Haji Mohd Sabri bin Haron (Terengganu State Government Mufti), UniSZA Top Management Member, YBrs. Prof. Associate Dr. Mohamad Zaidin bin Mat@Mohamad (Director of INSPIRE) as well as senior officers who were also involved in this event.

INSPIRE AND PUSTAKA KHAZANAH FATHANIYAH SEALS MANUSCRIPT DIGITAL AGREEMENT
Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin through the Islamic Malay Product and Civilization Research Institute (INSPIRE) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the digitization of manuscripts from the Fathaniyah Khazanah Library Collection located at UniSZA Campus Putrajaya. The collection of manuscripts and documents related to scholars and the Malay sultanate, which is estimated to exceed 2000 copies, will be digitized by the INSPIRE research group as soon as possible.
The MoU signing ceremony was led by UniSZA Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Dr. Fadzli Adam with the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation, Prof. Ts. Dr. Shukor Abdul Razak was also attended by other top management of UniSZA such as Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic and International, Prof. Dr. Zuhairah Abd Ghadas, Treasurer of UniSZA, Mr. Suhaili Mohd, Director of the Center for Academic Excellence and Innovation (CoMAE-i), Prof. Assoc. Ts. Dr. Syadiah Nor Wan Shamsuddin, Director of INSPIRE, Prof. Associate Dr. Mohamad Zaidin Mat@Mohamad, Deputy Director of INSPIRE, Prof. Assoc. Ts. Dr. Fatma Susilawati Mohamad and others. While the Fathaniyah Library was represented by Cik Wan Jumanatun Nailiah Wan Muh Syahrir, Custodian of the Fathaniyah Library Collection together with Mr. Abd Halim Muhamed, Secretary of the Nusantara Classic Treasures Study Association (PENGKAJI), Fathaniyah Library.
This MoU is a follow-up to the collaboration discussions that have been held between INSPIRE and the Khazanah Fathaniyah Library at the office of the Fathaniyah Khazanah Library in Kuala Lumpur on January 25. The discussion was led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation) together with the Deputy Director of INSPIRE and two (2) INSPIRE researchers who have successfully obtained initial approval to digitize the manuscript collection of the Khazanah Fathaniyah Library estimated at 2000 copies.
This collaboration is expected to open the door to many more opportunities for collaboration, especially in the field of manuscript research between the two parties for the benefit of current and future generations.

DISCUSSION OF COLLABORATION IN MANUSCRIPT DIGITALIZATION WITH JOHOR HERITAGE FOUNDATION (YWJ)
Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) through the Islamic Malay Product and Civilization Research Institute (INSPIRE) held a courtesy visit and discussion with Yayasan Warisan Johor (YWJ) in Johor Bharu. The discussion that took place in the Main Meeting Room, Yayasan Warisan Johor revolved around the potential collaboration between the two institutions, especially in the digitization of manuscripts in the YWJ collection.
The discussion was led by Dato Vice Chancellor Prof. Dato' Dr. Fadzli Adam and attended by Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation) Prof. Ts. Dr. Shukor Abdul Razak, INSPIRE Director Prof. Associate Dr. Zaidin Mat@Mohamad and Deputy Director of INSPIRE Prof. Assoc. Ts. Dr.. Fatma Susilawati Mohamad. While YWJ was chaired by the Director, Mr. Fairuzahri Jalaludin and attended by senior YWJ officials from the Museums, Letters and History department, Artifact Collection and Conservation Management Unit and Johor Weaving Gallery. An agreement has been reached so that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UniSZA and YWJ can be signed in the near future to finalize the area of cooperation between UniSZA and YWJ.

DIGITIZATION OF MANUSCRIPTS OF MALAY SCIENTISTS IN KEDAH
On 19 to 22 November 2023, the tracking and digitization of manuscripts related to Malay Scholars in Kedah which is the 7th sub-project under UniSZA's Manuscript Digitization Project (PPM). The work that started in the Mufti Department of Kedah, the Kedah State Library and the Kedah State Museum in addition to involving several individuals such as the heirs of the late Kedah historian Dato' Wan Shamsuddin and Tuan Guru Syeikh Wan Izzudin, Pondok Gajah Mati which has several collections related to Malay Scholars has been carried out . The research group led by Prof. Associate Dr. Mohd Hasrul bin Shuhari, Dr. Hanif bin Md Lateh @ Junid, Dr. Muhammad Rashidi bin Wahab and associate researcher, Dr. Farid Mat Zin (UKM). During the visit, the research group also tracked sources in the Kedah Ulama Gallery belonging to Ustaz Tengku Yusuff and the Taufiqiah Khairiah Al-Halimiah Religious High School Gallery (Pok Ya Lodge). The work of the research team and two members of the technical group have successfully carried out the scanning of the manuscript
related to Malay Scholars and has digitized 69 copies (3987 pages).
Director of INSPIRE, Prof. Associate Dr. Mohamad Zaidin bin Mat@Mohamad who also participated in the group held discussions with stakeholders in addition to detailing the scope of cooperation that could be implemented. The INSPIRE team hopes that with this kind of collaboration, they will be able to further launch the work of tracking and digitizing manuscripts and further put UniSZA on the best track in preserving national treasures for future generations to see.
