Future planning and strategy on culture should inculcate the virtues, noble qualities, values ??and norms and key for the construction of the nation’s civilization and civilization, culture and national resilience.

In the 19th century, scholars played a very important role in developing Islam in Terengganu. At that time, all fields of study were exposed and taught in the local community, including usuluddin, fiqh and tasawuf (Shafie, 1989: 26). More interestingly, the knowledge is disseminated by conducting studies using books written by local scholars themselves. Therefore, Tok Ku Tuan Besar is no exception in this regard. Tok Ku Tuan Besar was one of the scholars who contributed greatly to the development of the faith in his time.

TOK PULAU MANIS: PIONEER OF FIQH WRITINGS IN THE MALAY PENINSULAR

The proselytising of Islam in the Malay Peninsular depended on the earnestness of the classical Islamic scholars. The spreading of Islam was done through religious talks, Islamic studies classes, and through their writings. Syeikh Abdul Malik bin Abdullah, also known as Tok Pulau Manis is one of the classical Islamic scholars that was born in the state of Terengganu, which was active in producing religious books especially in the field of fiqh and ta?awwuf. However, most of the recent generations are not aware of his legacy and contributions in the spreading of Islam. Therefore, this article attempts to study his life and academic background, and highlights his contribution as one of the earliest classical Islamic scholars that produced fiqh writings in the Malay Peninsula. The result of this study finds that Tok Pulau Manis is an esteemed scholar, which was hold in high regard by the dignitaries including the Sultan Zainal Abidin I himself. His involvement in producing fiqh writings in J?w? during the 17 and 18th century had placed him as one of the pioneers of the fiqh writing in the Malay Peninsula.

Abdullah Mohamed or ‘Nakula’, an individual who is unique because he is often alone in a certain period because he strives to study, write and publish the results of research on various matters, especially related to religion, philosophy, history, astronomy and culture. He was born in 1931, in house number 1606, Kampung Kubang Pasu, Kota Bharu, Kelantan, in the institutional area of ??Pondok Datuk Haji Ahmad Manan, which is one of the leading scholars of Kelantan. The area always resonates with the sound of the call to prayer from his voice every five hours a day yesterday, while the roar of the sound of "geduk waktu solat" from the Muhammadi Mosque which is located nearby. The surrounding area resonates with the recitation of the Quran, recitation and memorization of lessons in Arabic by students and the voices of Ahmadiyya ratib-ratib as well as a collection of poems by the scholars who sing every three nights of the week and the sound of wirid-wirid and zikir -zikir his practice that resonates every morning.

Ancient Muslim scholars in Terengganu were amongst the important individuals in helping the Islamic teaching being spreading in this state. Due to their variances of disciplines and educational background had prepared Terengganu to become the state that is full of knowledge and Muslim scholars. Henceforth, this study was conducted to deeply understand on the ancient Muslim scholars’ educations, especially before the 19th century, thus it will contribute as a lesson and model for the general masses and future generations.

BIOGRAPHY OF THE PROPHET THROUGH MANUSCRIPTS OF TALES AND STORIES IN THE MALAY ARCHIPELAGO: AN ANALYTICAL STUDY

It was known about Malay literature before the dawn of Islam on these lands that it was an oral literature of a mythical character, full of doctrines and fictional stories most of them translated from Indian literature, and after the advent of Islam, the Malay community got acquainted with the literature of written stories through the Middle East, so they distinguished and excelled in it, especially those stories and the stories related to the prophetic literature, which are stories that tell the life of the Prophet Muhammad and other prophets, messengers and companions, and a number of tales and stories about the Prophet Muhammad were found in ancient Malay literature, including tales about his birth, stories about his miracles, his conquests, some of his wives, his miracles, etc. Through this study and following the descriptive and analytical approaches, we seek to uncover other unknown pages of the contributions of scholars of the Malay Archipelago in the field of prophetic biography, and to explain their methodology, style and sources in it.

ANALYSIS ON METHODS OF DETERMINING HALAL OR HARAM OF ANIMALS TO BE EATEN ACCORDING TO SYEIKH ABDUL MALIK BIN ABDULLAH IN HIS KITAB AL-KIFAYAH

Kitab al-Kifayah is a Malay manuscript which contains the debate about Islamic doctrine (aqidah) and Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh). It was composed in the 17th century or early 18th century by Syeikh Abdul Malik bin Abdullah, also known as Tok Pulau Manis. One of the chapters in this manuscript emphasizes matters pertaining to haram and halal animals are eaten. The issue of halal or haram regarding an animal has been debated among Muslim jurists (Fuqaha’). This happens because there are not many evidences from the Quran and the Hadith explain specifically about the ruling of eating a certain type of animals. As a consequence, this paper aims to identify what are the methods used by Syeikh Abdul Malik in determining halal or haram in eating an animal. It also analyzes the methods proposed by him in al-Kifayah. In order to meet these objectives, documentation method used by examining three copies of the Kitab al-kifayah discovered by the researchers. The results of this study demonstrate the methods proposed by Sheikh Abdul Malik is compatible with what are outlined by the legal scholars in the authoritative books of al-Shafii. However, he was not merely citing and translating what are in the scriptures, but also he was able to develop his own method for the categories of birds which are grabbing and holding food with their mouths, eating nails, breathing while drinking water and birds marked at their neck.

THE CONTRIBUTION OF SHAYKH ABDUL QADIR BUKIT BAYAS IN ISLAMIC JURISPRUDENCE AND SOCIAL HARMONY

Shaykh Abdul Qadir is one of the most prominent Islamic figures and scholars in Terengganu, Malaysia. All of scholar in Malaysia agreed that Shaykh Abdul Qadir was born in Patani Dar al-Salam. However, there is no definitive record detailing his birthplace. There is only an assumption that he is estimated to be born in the last decade of the 18th century, around the 1790s. There is a more general note that he was born around the 1700s. In this case, the estimation of the date of birth of Sheikh Abdul Qadir most suitable is around 1740AD to 1790AD.

This product has won a gold medal in product and innovation week(MPI) in 2021. i-Ulama Tracker was built for the purpose of profiling the data of ulama in mobile form to make it easier for the public to know easily about the complete biography and their contribution to religion and state administration. This I-Ulama Tracker has also been officially registered in the Malaysian Intellectual Property Corporation with registration number LY2021W00257. The construction of i-Ulama Tracker has gone through several research processes in collecting and verifying information obtained from several i-Ulama Tracker researchers. i-Ulama Tracker believes that it can give a good impact, especially to primary and secondary education in obtaining complete information related to a scholar. In addition, this portal can also help researchers to find out the publication of articles related to scholars that have been done by researchers i-Ulama Tracker consists of university academics and researchers in several educational institutions in Malaysia. I-Ulama Tracker can also make it easier for users to know the position of the tomb of scholars through the universal positioning system (GPS). Thus, the construction of i-Ulama Tracker can be a reference hub and data storage of past scholars in the Malay World as a whole.

Mobile Application e-Manuscript UniSZA

This product has won a gold medal in product and innovation week(MPI) in 2021. University of Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) has taken the initiative to protect this old manuscript from the threat of extinction. Thus, the process of collection, digitization, and development of the system of Islam and the Malay manuscripts of historical value from the countries around the world will be tracked down and brought back to Malaysia. This venture is also significant and relevant to one of UniSZA's niches as a university of Islamic studies based on the latest technological developments along with the expertise of researchers at UniSZA in manuscript and information technology. This project focuses on manuscript scholars in Terengganu, collections of Malcolm MacDonald from Durham University, United Kingdom, Khizanah Al-Qarawiyyin, Morocco, scholars in the Malay Archipelago in Aceh and Riau, scholars in the Malay Pattani, collections of Terengganu Palace, collections of the Sultanate of Johor palace, collections of the University of Paris - Sorbonne, France, Leiden University, the Netherlands and Portugal. For the success of this project, a network of cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been implemented by the Institute for Product Research and Malay Islamic Civilization (INSPIRE), UniSZA with several institutions such as the National Archives of Malaysia, Terengganu State Museum, University of Durham, United Kingdom and Telekom Malaysia. UniSZA "e-Manuscript System" is developed as a medium for easy access and dissemination of tracked manuscripts so that the country's precious treasures are preserved for future and future reference. To date, there is still no online manuscript system available to everyone for learning, researching, and preserving the manuscript.
